What does it mean to be insane

To be insane is to be severely mentally unstable and an outcast to society. In OFOTCN the inmates are all insane and that is why they are kept away from society.  Billy Bibbit is a strange man who I find a little bit retarded.  McMurphy is the most normal in the whole house.  He does seem like a bit of a psycho though, kind of like a killer.  I do not think that Chief is insane though, I think he is just very out of touch with things because he is deaf and he can't speak.  Nurse Ratchet is mean to the inmates because they are different than she is.  The glass is a symbol between the sane and then insane.  Cigarette are the currency to these inmates so that symbolizes that they need to calm down a lot, and cigarettes calm them.  Baseball symbolizes freedom to these people and McMurphy wants to not work the night shift so that he can watch the game.  He convinces the inmates to protest to watch the game and the other people don't know what the hell they are protesting for.  Nurse Ratchet is very mean when she closes the vote before McMurphy can persuade his last voter.  I find the insane people in this movie to be discriminated against.
